Thinking of getting my siblings to chip in and buy my dad an Elise experience for Christmas. He recently bought an S2 111S after constant nagging from yours truly.

Just wondering a couple of things if anyone else has any experience of these events
-will it be "interesting" enough given that he has been driving his own Elise for best part of a year now?
-is it a proper hooning session which he will appreciate / benefit / maybe even learn from?

I don't think he has an interest in taking his pride and joy onto a track day, so I am thinking this is probably the next best thing?

Finally if anyone has any better options of something similar I'd be keen to hear from you!

Not Hethel but my OH recently did an Aston Martin experience at Thruxton which I bought her for her 50th recently.

Well organised and the added extra of Tiff Needell doing doughnuts in the paddock!!

And they do an experience in an Exige which links in with his Elise.

I did it back in 2007 as apparently I bought my Elise during a promotion period that included a Hethel Experience (as well as an overnight stay/dinner).

I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't describe it as a 'hoon'. We did drifting on the tight bend (in an Elise with the rear tyres replaced by front tyres and a wet track) and then some hot laps under instruction. You were certainly allowed to go much quicker than on the usual 'xxx Experience' days, but still in a controlled way.

I did the Caterham autotest a few years back and that was a lot of fun, and no limits.
