I know that the distance selling regs have been replaced with the Consumer Contract Regs (CCR) but the gist of the regs remain the same - i.e any goods bought online or by phone can be returned for a full refund within 14 days. I bought something (ladies designer shoes) from a retail store over phone that was delivered to me by courier. I need to return this item as it was a gift for the mrs that she did not really like (don't go there lol!).

I spoke to the store I bought the item from and have been told strictly no refunds are allowed and that they can only exchange. I directed them to the CCR but they were having none of it and said sorry no refunds....where do I stand and what do I need to do to get a refund if I am legally obliged to do so?

Thanks.

You need to notify them in writing (email will do) that you are returning

Don't forget they have to refund the outward delivery costs

I still cannot believe the number of out and out idiots who think the law does not apply to them
