Then not one of them would sell.

They would all be well over market value, and given that most have no history or documentation whatsoever.

Did someone mention bursting of bubbles.

Whilst I am surprised by the prices, the fact that they sold at auction at these prices means they are the market prices.... and why assume they didn't have any history?
The UK may be different because of market size and RHD factors, but this was an International Auction and these are the European prices.... maybe you should have bought a LHD??

The collection was impounded by the Italian authorities. If you were lucky you were to receive an Italian log book which was applied for after the sale - however many simply came with a bill of sale which stated you had purchased the car in good faith.

Not sure how reliable a bill of sale would be in the event of a dispute down the line.

To my mind a 993 GT2, or a CGT, with zero provenance is worth 30-40 % less than a similar vehilcle that ticks all the right boxes.

A 2.2s that needs a full restoration (£80 - 100k) selling for 120k Euro plus 20% hammer fee, and has zero provenance !

Sorry if that is where the market is there are hundreds of cars in the PH classifieds that are being advertised for £50k less than their true value.

I do agree with Alvin.
You were buying the cars only without any provenance.
The CGT had no service history for seven years.
The prices obtained for most were unbelievable given their condition.
Just goes to show that the so called bubble still has someway to go.
I think you will achieve good money for your own turbo look cab but you need the Cup 1's on it to make it work.

I agree with what is being said, but i'm wondering if the Carrera GT simply needed its reg or VIN taken by a local dealer to get the service history verified? Perhaps the buyer arranged this pre-auction.

Ok £23,000 plus 20% fee for a 944 S2.

Prices are increasing quite rapidly on these because so many were scrapped, but the very best UK car is worth half of that amount.

Again no provenance whatsoever.
