Anyone a member of any of the Mercedes Owners Clubs, with an opinion on which one is best for information, forum, events, classifieds etc?

I'm currently looking for a R129 (98 onwards) and am guessing that one of the owners clubs might be a reasonable place to start looking.

I always check for 'sales' on here, but it's always nice to find a car directly from a club member.

Cheers

One key advantage of the official Mercedes Owners Club is that it gives you access to the Daimler parts catalogue (EPC) and workshop instruction (WIS) systems. The magazine is pretty good as well.

The official Mercedes Benz club is well worth the £35 (ish) annual fee for the access to information it affords, and the tri-annual Mercedes Classic magazine.

Like every one-make car club, it is dominated by a few individuals who have more time on their hands than me, but that's the same everywhere.

In addition, there is free access to the Mercedes museum etc and insurance discounts.

Try a few forums and see which one you get on with.

For tech help Benz World is pretty hard to beat (despite being American)

Peachparts have loads of "how to" kind of articles

Thanks. Peach Parts guides have been useful, as has Benz World.

Will probably give the official club a go. Only previous club I was a member of was the TVR club, which was ace. Actually kept my subscription after I sold the car, mainly for Sprint.

Thanks Guy's, I will get the club application sorted.

I know that the debate about 320 v 500 has been 'done to death' already and I would be happy with either as long as it is post 98 and has the 'Panoramic Roof'.

I have viewed a few already, but found that some sellers idea of 'mint' differs wildly from my definition, so I am still looking.

In the meantime, if anyone knows of a good car available, I have cash waiting!!

Cheers
