The griff died about 6 weeks ago, it had no feed to the coil, starter or fuel pump.
Then the engine went boom on the S1, so that was both of them dead
I had to fix the S first due to it being a daily driver for the wife, so no griff until it was done
Got round to looking at it tonight and now it works again
Been out for a good cobweb blast tonight(me and the car)
and i forgot how brutal it is.
I usually travel a 1000 mile a week in my escort diesel, so jumping back into the griff was wonderfull.
Sometimes a break from driving it makes it feel so much better when you get back in it.
Just thought i would share this with you because i am so happy to have them both running again.
And dont ask what the problem was.........i deserve a muppet award and thats all i will say

This is a novel idea although slightly off post, instead of the usual my Griff is broke any idea what's wrong?
We have my Griff is fixed any idea what fixed it?
Much more enlightening because at least one of us know exactly what the fix is.
That is appart from the last time mine broke, I fixed it but have no idea how

Sounds like a fuse, but that's too obvious.
Mine's off the road at the moment whilst I refurb the wishbones, replace the bushes and fit the Nitrons. It's been about six wweks to so (I was away for two) and at least until the Easter weekend before it's back on the road, so I'm expecting to feel the same way you did.
Coincidently, it was three years ago this Easter weekend I bought it, so it'll be like buying it all over again!

The Laying-on of Hands - you should be known from now on as a Faith Healer or Dennis Acura
Maybe, I think the words of encouragement help to. It seems to respond to little four letter words and the threat of a 4lb lump hammer.

I recently 'discovered' (sorry if this is common knowledge) that if there is no out put from the ignition amplifier (which switches the LT side of the coil) then the ECU cuts power to the fuel pump.
So a problem in the LT circuit would automatically cut the fuel pump as well. Should still prime with ignition though.
Doesn't explain your lack of starter though...
I am going to go in to a little background on this problem.......
my engine fans packed in after a run out in a downpour.
I changed every fuse and relay........one at a time to try and rectify the problem.
The Clifford alarm sounded when reinstalling the fuses but i thought "thats ok".
I then went to start it up and nothing........
Checked feeds to pump (not priming), coil (no feed) and nothing on the starter,
Immobiliser problem, or so i thought..........
What i had actually done is moved the spare fuse (with no fuse in it) to the ECU fuse and hence no power.
What a muppet!!!!
