Made the sensible decision to move from 12 cylinders and 9.8 MPG

to a mere 8 cylinders and an improved 10.9 MPG

Perfect winter commuter car...

To be fair, it got 22 mpg on the 250 mile trip home on the M1. Not too bad for 450 BHP V8 TT.

The mpg displayed is for a week of very short (2.5 mile( commutes in traffic to and from the station.

How is a Porsche TT V8 only making 450bhp?

I presume that can be turned up (quite a lot)? smile

Cool cars, but brass balls needed for the fuel bills! Well done smile
500 plus is easily available for £300.

Are these really that fragile, I know the N/A V8 S suffers with engine issues but I believe the Turbo is more dependable.

Also, a lot of the running gear is shared with the Touareg is it not ? I know they have issues with the prop which isnt too bad to sort out but otherwise still see loads of these first gen Cayennes in daily use.

Why oh Why do I want a Cayenne Turbo so much?!

Get it remapped then see how low it can go on the instant reading. It must be hilarious!

That 8Series is brilliant, I hope it was only retired until the summer and not sold!

These are a strong contender for my next car, would be very interested to hear how you get on with it. Like someone else said, I suspect they aren't as expensive to run (bar fuel) than people think they are. Have never seen one suffering from the same issues as the N/A V8.

My old boss had a cayenne turbo, drive it a few times and sold it for him in the end because he couldn't be bothered! Drives like a car rather than 4x4, regular £120 fill ups though, huge yanks IIRC. Doesn't suffer from nikasil failure. He sold it for a Q7 4.2tdi in the end which was equally as good and quick.

Insurance is £340

RFL £295

Main service £300

Discs etc nothing too expensive

20" tyres £120/corner.

So main risk is electronics and air suspension stuff.

Car was sub £7k. It's pretty tidy. Only thing I need to spend is on a replacement double din radio for Bluetooth etc. as PCM is 12 years old and a bit useless.

Too late I'm here.

I bought one of these...Shortly after it blew up.
Then I spent 9 months trying to get my money back. Which I eventually did.

In short....If you are going through a litre of oil per full tank of fuel (250 miles) then quickly...(and I mean very quickly) tell the dealer it's fked.

Normal oil tolerance is 500 - 1000 miles per litre which is very st anyway.

Ka-Boom!!

Before it went pop.

Enjoy! winkhehe

eek 1L/1000KM is my absolute upper limit in terms of oil usage, anything worse then that is shagged in my opinion

My trusty little (known for sipping oil) italian does ~1L/3000KM
