Hi Folks,

After moving to sunny Surrey, I just got a reasonable quote for an interim service on my 993 (cica £475) from Brooklands Porsche main deaqler.

I've also got Eporsch not so far from me and I had great service from Chelsea Carrera in High Wycombe, but that's a bit far.

I do like the idea of getting her seen at Brooklands though, it's all in the name... However I do not want to be in for a world of pain if the reasonable price will be followed by hiked up work costs.

Thoughts, experiences?

Yeah, I have not had great experiences with OPCs either. I guess I am thinking it will look good in the service book. Brooklands is such a great name though!

You also have GT-one. Very good, but also a good propensity to charge as well from experience!

Brooklands are not really a full on opc though as far as i know. I think they are good on the service side with an interest in air-cooled. But very strange on the sales side as I found when trying to buy a cayenne recently!

GT One include a couple of ex Brooklands people. The last time i checked they were approx. 1/3 less labour cost for the same work. Recommended, they know their stuff. Having said that, OP's Brooklands quote seems like a resaonable fixed price cost.

Hi folks,

Thanks for all the replies and just wanted to give you an update. Yes, it is called "Porsche Service Centre, Brooklands" so that makes sense. I am glad that they have an indy vibe and that is the impression I have had since taking my car in for a service. The classics guy, Tim, even hinted he was open to looking at 2nd hand parts, which surprised me.

He is the dedicated classics man and seems very pleasant and knowledgeable. The interim service is very reasonable at under £400. They definitely seem to know their stuff and seem very thorough, which unfortunately meant I got a long list of things that need to be done (which I might even post to get your sage opinions). Definitely a list of working parts rather than bodywork, etc, so I agree they are engineering people, which lest face it is most important!

I will report back but so far I am pleased with level of service and apparent expertise. They even collected my car from Bookham, which is darn good manners. It would be churlish to expect not pay more for OP and if that is the only extra expense over an indy it might be a good way forward.

Only question is will my wife blow a gasket if I start ticking off the list!!

Chris, your report chimes with my experience and, yes Tim is a pleasant and knowledgable chap. Like yourself, they usually provide a list of extra items needing correction - some of which I ignore - and these never cause me issues. wink

A few months back I had my 991 GT3RS serviced here and must say was very happy. They don't sell new cars but fully Official Porsche Centre.

I had my car booked in for warranty work on 25th after waiting weeks for an appointment with a loan car, the day before i'm called to re-arrange by Charlie as the loan car is not back for a further week, I re-arranged the following week for the new date of 3rd March and to collect the loan car on 2nd March. I should of known I'd have hassle after the service I had in October 2019 from this dealer. Charlie said he'd call me on Monday 2nd to confirm the loan car is back, I waited until 1pmish and called in to be told "he's off today".. This guy needs customer service training!! I expressed my disgust with no apologie from the other end of the phone..The guy I spoke to said I'd get a call back within an hour. It's now March 3rd, 8:50am and my car should be with Porsche Brooklands.. not surprisingly I'm still awaiting a call. For a privately owned dealership I'd of expected more.... I will NEVER use this dealer again

Was this Porsche Brooklands? If so I’m surprised. Go to GT One.
