Does it work in the context of giving up smoking etc?

I mean, does it really work?

I know something that can help. Similar to hypnosis but you are not put in a trance... PM me if you want to know more.

It works temporarily, but doesn't last - that's why you have to go back again and again.

Hypnosis is a personal thing and depends on your personality type whether it's likely to work or not, having said, the sort of person ideally suited to giving up alone is often one fails with hypnotists.

I dabbled with hypnotism and have made somebody believe that they were on fire, or were really stoned, but never giving up smoking. That takes a special sort of bloke. A post hypnotic suggestion might work. I think that's a novel approach. Every time you spark up a fag, it will make you feel really stoned! Basically your mind is the limit as to what weird shit you can make people believe. I reckon a good one out there will stop you smoking, no problem, quite a few people are quacks in the game as I've heard.

I know 2 people who's had it done.

One didn't smoke again for months and then started again when out.
The other got fed up and smoked when he came out just for the hell of it!

Ah, another smoker beaten down under the burden of the changes in society?

Or is it just getting too expensive?

To be honest, I did the Allen Carr thing and it worked a treat. I have tried some self-help things in the past and thought they are a load of tosh. However, was recommended the Allen Carr "easyway" method and thought I would try the book..... well stone me, it worked. Still think about smoking, but really dont want to smoke - cant think of anything worse in fact.

Try the book - its got an excellent success ratio and comes recommended from me and several other PH'ers.... its got to be worth a spin.

Oh, and long story but needed some complementary therapy several years ago. Turned to hypnosis and for this particular case it worked. Enjoyed it too - if you get the right one. Expensive though and needed a course of treatment. Slightly less professional hypnotherapists might try and take all of your money....
