Hello,

Please find below the entrants to the latest PH Cooking Competition – Beef. Thanks to all that entered the competition, especially those who entered before the extension.

SVX - Slow Cooked Brisket in red wine, with thyme, shallots and bay reduction. Served with mustard mash and buttered spinach.





TeeRev - Marinated Picanha Rump, Roasted with a bourbon, dijon mustard, thyme and honey crust. Served rare with bone marrow and brioche crumbed potato and turnip dauphinoise, cavalo nero cabbage, creamed horseradish and cooking juices reduction.





Jer_1974 - Sirloin, served with Yorkshire puddings and gravy and mushy peas.





bomb - Beef Flank on the bone. Served with a Port gravy, carrots and broccoli.





Cotty - Chunky Chilli





21TonyK - Beef with pear, orange and chocolate.





JKRolling - Beef Chilli





Tickle - Roast sirloin with a tarragon, parsley and walnut crust on horseradish crème. Served with fondant potatoes and roast beetroot.





Ascayman - Beef coriander and chill curry. Served with tomato and onion chutney and mint and cucumber riata.





Dan_1981 - Stew

Thanks,

looking at these beef entries I am now swaying to do beef for Christmas dinner, how a turkey could compete with any of the above is beyond me.

The above pics are also making me hungry, especially the ones with gravy, ready to be mopped up with crusty buttered bread lick

I thought that, I think I put it on the old thread too. I guess many people will be too busy to fit another competition in-between now and Christmas also.

Quite an open subject Christmas Dinner, plenty of options.

We're on holiday in the Caribbean over Christmas so will be having dinner in a restaurant, I will be cooking my wife a Christmas breakfast which if the time difference is taken into account will be served around UK lunchtime, if that's the theme would that do?
