Not strictly a "Car" but has 50% more wheels and coolness

I am, as of today the proud owner of this:

Its a Polaris Ranger, 800cc petrol, 6X6, top speed is about 55MPH and it gets there pretty quick, it's switchable from 2wd to 4wd to all 6wd, as well as high, low and diff locks, it will go pretty much anywhere!
I’ve asked them to install a glass windscreen, roof and back window before it gets delivered next week.
Its road legal, and registered as an agricultural vehicle, so it doesn’t need a MOT or tax, just registration plates, lights and insurance.
I will be modifying it a little bit, alloy wheels and new tyres, a canopy for the rear tray so I can cart the dogs about etc, perhaps a radio.
It's not the most exciting of things, but something a little different for a grey Wednesday morning.

Epic!!! Would love to tear around in one of these
enjoy.
This is a bit of a weird question, but how would you clean one of these? I'm guessing everything is waterproof (ie electrics in dash), so do you just jet wash everything including the interior and wipe down?!

Yes its all waterproof, so like you said, just hose down and scrub the lot! Might avoid the jetwash on the engine/interior and electrics though and just use a hose/bucket for the delicate bits, don't want to force pressurised water in. H20DJY said:
Brilliant, I really want something like a Polaris!
Do you have it for legit reasons, or is it just for fun?
Yes, there is a legitimate reason, we have a 14 acre woodland attached to our house, at present I have no way of moving tools, wood, logs etc around, the winch will be used to move/pull stuff, chainsaw it up, chuck it in the back and bring it to the workshop/house for processing. Do you have it for legit reasons, or is it just for fun?
Using it to nip to the pub is just a by-product, honestly

Superb! Very jealous, I have no legit excuse and therefore will probably never justify it!Using it to nip to the pub is just a by-product, honestly

Given the electrics I'd definately avoid the jetwash. Also, if you're going to use it on the road and might park it somewhere, get a proper ignition barrel and immobiliser on it. They're theft magnets, they get nicked left right and centre and the barrels/lock are so naff it really is about 3 second work to fire it up.

Yes I have come from defender ownership so know a few tricks, lets say to confuse/delay some thief’s, similar things will be added to this! PhillipM said:

You can't think of a better fun purchase for £16k? Or even £7k? I can think of a dozen straight off...But that wasn't ever going to be why somebody'd buy it, is it?
k off you dickI (for once) actually see 2CV's point, you wouldnt really buy this just for "fun", its a 50/50 workhorse and fun
If you wanted fun you would get:
