Just a thread to start everyone off nominating and agree meeting points for convoys to the Black Pie and Tie. I'm in North London, so will probably North Circular it to the M4 and then on from there.

Start making suggestions and we can sort it all out. Bit early I know but it can start us off

Yep, had the same idea yesterday, for Londoners Heston Services is probably easiest as everyone will go down the M4.

Scottster has suggested a few semi-official meeting points, from different parts of the country.

Heston services is the London one.

Anyone want to suggest some from the West, East or North etc.?

Yup, rather than start a big debate about which services is closest to us (I bet we'd name every one in the country) we should just name say three of four ones on the main routes and meeting/departing times - if tou want to turn up then great, else make your own way there.

Heston is great foEast/M4 travellers, starts at 7:00, hour to book in/get ready, hour to get there (should add two for Tiv breakdowns but I've promised not to mention thatan am going to be on my best behaviour so I'll assume it will be a trouble free trip ;-))

Maybe meet at 4:30 aiming to kick off around five?

I suggest other venue suggestions have a similar timescales then a big race there - Extra prize for whoever gets the most points on their licence between then and dinner!!

'Er indoors tells me that she would like to get there a bit earlier so she can have a swin and a sauna etc.

Though I would rather blast up the motorway with much automotive exotica than engage in Nordic pursuits.

That was onyl a suggestion regarding times guys and was leaving it a little on the late side - Of course, having paid for a room at the Marriot it would be a shame for us all not to get a fair go with Lisa in the pool, sauna, solarium, gym......

Let's go earlier, I guess my bird will want about a decade to get ready too (of course darling, you only need two mins )

Anyway, being a serious fan of starting the beering early I guess it would be a service to other PHers to test out all the available beverages before the masses arrive!! Call it my bit for charridee)

Yep.....given that there are facilities to be taken advantage of, pools to wee in and I owe domster a beer, I think an arrival mid-p.m. (2-ish) would be good.

So perhaps the solution is to arrive earlier, dump the ....ahem... baggage, and reconvene in the car park.

Not a bad plan, any Swindon locals au fait with some empty A roads in the area?

I really do hope we get asked if we are Cannonballers!

I'm not joining you for this fantastic do I'm afraid. Money and work are not good.....

But, as I live in Swindon, I might drop by and drool over the shiny cars......

If you get off (the train...) at Chippenham I'll pick you up - unless you already have a Swindon station to Marriott plan!
