I have a DB9 parked in well, it's a bit more substantial than a car port. It's a mostly walled structure with a solid roof but no chance of putting a door on because of the gradient of the slope outside. Also, one of the walls is brick but not solid all the way along - more like arches.

Should I use an outdoor cover, or just leave it? Im worried a cover will scratch the paintwork as dust will obviously settle. I may use it when the car is spotless, but if it's been sitting there without the cover?????

What would you do?

With that description I would not buy an outdoor cover.

My car also lives under a car port most of the time, albeit in a different climate (South of France). I have the AML Ultimate Outdoor Car Cover. I only put it on when the car is spotless but I would certainly recommend putting a cover on.

I bought a car cover 5 years ago when I first got the car but never used it for exactly that reason. The lacquer on these cars seems a lot less durable than on other cars I have owned and any dirt under the cover would wreak havoc. I think it's better to leave it to the elements and spend the money on a proper protection detail twice a year rather than a car cover in your case.

I hear what you're saying Mark smile

The UK is not regarded as an arduous market by AM, hence the more benign approach to pollen filter changes etc. However, I do take on board comments by Quinny, Mikey, F1 NDW (inter alia) that AMs exposed fully to the elements appear to suffer more than the protected ones.

OP has demonstrated a decent level of protection. This is why I would not deem a cover as a necessity. Others may disagree.
