I know there's a 14 day "rule" on NIP's in the UK. Can anyone clarify (hopefully with links) whether it's only a UK rule or whether it applies in Europe.

I'm in Belgium and have just received one from 6 weeks ago. I wasn't driving - I'd lent a car to a mate - it's only a small fine and we don't have points, but if there's a way out.... smile

I'm not in Belgium, have you tried googling Belgium traffic law?

Yes, and I can't find any mention of a 14 day rule. Just wondered whether one of the legal eagles on here could confirm that it's a UK rule.

In addition, I did manage to find a newspaper report where someone succesfully challenged one that was more than 6 months old, but that's all.
