When THAT letter arrived.... well it has, last week... just to let me know.... that I'm approaching state pension age ffs... I'm not happy. I mean why remind me? I fuc***g know how old I am... I don't need some goody two shoes civil servant to remind me that I'm no longer a youngster. I refuse to grow old gracefully, it's simply not an option... I could sell beastie and buy a mobility scooter.. there's hundreds of the fecking things round here, only last week I nearly got mowed down by a geriatric dribbly person speeding on the pavement who didn't even see me.... It's like a wave of wrinkly urban terrorists... I refuse to become a pensioner, I just won't. Fu*k it, I just won't....

Ooooh, calm down , Victor biggrin. biggrin.

You can get some really nice mobility scooters now you know. Mirrors, reversing buzzers (ideal in the aisles at Lidl), fancy paint jobs, alloy wheels etc etc. Oh, and they're probably kinder to the environment as well (whatever that means, do they collect the weekly shopping for the environment, or visit it once a week?).

No, stick with the TVR and show them what a proper car in the hands of an 'experienced' motor-car driver can do. I presume, of course, that you call them 'motor-cars', having got 'on trend' and stopped referring to them as horseless carriages biggrin

Actually, your post has just caused me some concern, as I've just realised that the last 2 TVR owners I've spoken with (Griffith [whatever that is laugh] and Chimaera) were both over 70. Perhaps Chimaera is the new Honda Jazz

You should worry, I'm more than old enough to get a free TV licence!

Look on the bright side, you will now be getting a £200.00 heating allowance

It seems as though Chimaera's are driven by grumpy old men. I am fecking proud to be part of that distinguished club.

The good news is that age has brought on a self inflicted 4 day week, sod it, gonna make it three...........lovely, more fiddling time.....

Thought I'd spruce up the engine bay with all the new time on my hands.

Richard....send the letter back with a big marker penned f***k off on it!

I''m banking on some hooning trips up your way next year and beyond so get the age thing out of your head and Beastie out the garage! Who gives a crap anyway....you can't change it and we're all getting older!

More importantly were all still here mate unlike some poor sods we've all known now long gone...they would have loved the chance to be driving and enjoying TVR's this coming year and beyond.

I've been on a cider social today which might explain my brutal honesty drink... but also the next best thing to TVR and tomorrow is looking good for weather smile So Biddie is coming out for the drive to football and back.

A drive in Beastie tomorrow and the AM through the week and life still aint looking too bad smile

I've never met you before Chilli but if I had to judge your age by your posts I would have pegged you at a young 32 with a brilliant sense of humour.

Are you really such an old git?

You seem right at the other end of the grimble spectrum to me thumbup

Anyway, as we all know.... you're as young as the woman you feel wink

Gearbox has a drone in 4th, (appeared after drag racing, ho hum) and my apparent slight piston slap from the forged pistons will be addressed with my new 5.5 spare block and a new set of pistons.

biglaugh

One of the oldest but youngest guys on here is pushing 60 something, I followed him into a turn at Bedford, somehow I'd got close to him hehe he was slowing I think, he only put the outside rear wheel on the grass, or the white line or whatever it was, sort of showing me his precise nature and the ability and confidence to use that to turn the rear end into a turn, either that or his age is getting the better of him, I was soooo impressed hehe

Hmmm my diff needs an oil change, I hope so anyway!
Drag racing is really hard core stuff!
