Hi, I would like to have a ceiling mounted speaker added to the main bathroom.

Unlike regular sonos etc, I want a simple self contained unit. Connect phone to Bluetooth and start playing music by the speaker. So it is important that it's 'always on' in terms of always listening for a connection rather than going to sleep and requiring to be manually switched on.

Above the bathroom is loft void, so would just want to cut a hole in the ceiling plaster mount the speaker and then hook up the speaker to the mains power source, electrician would do it all.

So any recommendations for such a unit?

Yup, although I use a little SMSL digital amp. Or set up a raspberry pi as both an airplay (using shairplay for keeping things in sync) and a bluetooth receiver (using not sure what yet) - one of my Christmas projects.

That's the IP44 bathroom one. There are non IP versions available too. PM or reply if you want to know anything specific.

I'm sure the above were being shown/demonstrated at Grand Designs Birmingham this year. If they were they were very good. smile
