Hi Ted,

It seems every 24 hours or so I get logged out. I thought it could be my cookie settings but it happens on both my office and home computers.

any ideas?

cheers

It seems to be ok at the moment on my home PC since Ted emailed me I'll wait to see if my work PC still does it.

Ted , I keep getting this problem. No S,P & L , but the screen says "Hi,Z1000". I can't log back in because the log in page says the same. The only cure seems to be to try and post a reply like this one , and then I get the opportunity to enter my password.

Thanks for the extra info. I think there's a clue there to what might be happening. I'll do some more investigation.

I'm still struggling to identify it.

What I really need to know is the expiry dates on the cookies that are being set in your browser.

If there's anyone who's experiencing the problem who doesn't mind getting a bit technical to help out it would be greatly appreciated.

Ted,

I'm still getting this logging out problem. I do a fair bit of website stuff in my job so happy to assist with any techy stuff.

It's more than likely to be a cookie problem. It just happed so I had a look at the dumpcookie.asp page and noticed:

popup 01/04/2005 16:21:30

This is the exact time by session expired and I had to re-login. I've got a screenshot of the page if you need it.

What I need is someone to run www.nirsoft.net/utils/iecookies.html which shows expiry dates. All I can assume is that the expiry dates aren't getting set correctly.

Thanks. The mystery deepens. Your login cookies aren't due to expire for ages yet. Yet I suspect you'll say that you've been logged out again in a few days.

Indeed. I'll let you know if I do (although it won't be till next week now as it's my work PC that does it).

I think I may have a clue now Ted. I had no joy logging in on my home computer until I changed the URL to www.petrolheads.co.uk, it is now letting me log in from home, hope this helps.

Hi Ted,

It happened again yesterday at about ~4pm so I took a screen grab:

www.cate1.co.uk/ph/cookieview2.jpg

It's just happened again so I took another one:

www.cate1.co.uk/ph/cookieview3.jpg

These were taken just before I logged in again. I just logged in and have taken a third one here:

www.cate1.co.uk/ph/cookieview4.jpg

hope this helps
