Going to see an M6 tomorrow. It's up for £42k

The spec is amazing, but the mileage is 45k for 2013 plate car. I wondered if it too high? I do about 6000 miles per year and would probably keep it for 2 years.

The car has the following

Competition pack

Ceramics (replaced under warranty 10k miles ago.)

B&O

Side view camer

Heated steering wheel

Etc

The spec is awesome. What do you guys think?r it also has 8 months BMW warranty on it.

no way, Its going to be hard to sell on when you move the car but even more so with 45 to 50k miles on the car.

I think this one is better value

Its still a good spec but much lower miles, newer and still under warranty.

Not into that colour I'm afraid, plus really want the B and O upgrade. I don't think 55k on a 6 yr old M6 is going to be bad in 2 yrs time plus it would have the warranty to back it up. As long as the price is right, it would sell.

yes the colour is a very personal thing, I really like the orange (my one is orange).

Yes if the price is right it will sell but its probably going to drop in value a lot.

This.

As long as it's priced accordingly then it's worth considering. It's not going to blow up with 45k on - it's just the resale value that will need considering

I would be surprised if a 50-55k miles 5-6 year old M6 made more than 25k at trade, so I'd factor that into your thinking, plenty of depreciation left in a £42k M6.

Sounds a great car though.

Orange car looks fab.

Aren't the latest cars much more reliable than the previous V10?

Would want to avoid the ceramics if possible but otherwise 45k miles shouldn't be a problem surely?

Why avoid the Ceramics, they are bloody brilliant.

They squeak, and provide little pedal feel when cold or at low speeds.

They are also biblically expensive to replace.

I bought the carbiggrinbiggrin

I'm so happy with it. It's everything I want and more.

Yes, the mileage is a bit higher than I want, and I might lose a few ££££ come resell in 3 years time, but who cares man! it puts a smile to my face, and that's all that matters. To be honest, we don't buy these type of cars to worry about depreciation. The whole package is so much better than my old F10 M5. Not sure if it's the competition pack, or just because it's an M6, but it really handles and feel a lot smaller than I thought. For some reason I never really got on with my old 2012 M5, this is just on another level, the grip is just phenomenal, and the brakes is just wow!

If it was £47k and 30k miles, I would have easily bought it without regrets. So, for 44k miles and £42k I'm very happy laugh.

I'll worry about the resell value after 3 years of joyful motoring. biggrinbiggrinlaughlaugh I'm just glad to be alive and can afford to drive this beast.

Not true. Maybe on earlier ceramics, but these ones don't squeak, pedal feel is just awesome even in cold. It would probably outlast the car before it needs replacing. Also these were replaced under warranty less than 10k miles ago.

They only squeak after they have been washed on mine and that stops after one or two gentle applications. Pedal feel is great, even when cold. Yes they cost a lot to replace, but based on current wear my rear pads will last more than 100k miles and the front pads 200k miles, disks at least twice that. So, over time they work out cheaper than the standard brakes.

Mine did for the first 1000ish miles. (non CC's) I think my driving style managed to cure it tho.

I love M6's but it just wasn't a viable choice given the difference in cost.

Congrats on your purchase!

I was wondering if you are buying a warranty on the car. I was browsing through a M6 forum and a chap on there said he had $25k of warranty work done on his M6. Made me think... buying the car is easy. Running the thing is a different story!

Welcome to the land of M6 lunacy. The car sounds (and looks) awesome. As for losing money, it's the best way I have found so far. On your death bed, hopefully many years from now, you will still be giggling about. I know I will. Enjoy in good health.
