PS4 VR Bundle - Out of stock everywhere - HELP!
Discussion
Amazon are saying out of stock till after Xmas now. I did read that even CEX are paying more than the RRP for used units now.
Tbh I wouldn't get your pants pulled down by the rip of merchants on ebay. Even the Move controllers are double/triple the price at the moment due to shortages and they are really needed if you want the full VR experience.
In your position I would save the extra £150+ you will end up spending on the VR kit and upgrade to the Ps4 pro as it's a good enhancement for the VR kit. Get your name down on Amazon for the VR and Move controllers in the new year.

Thank you for your replies and kapiteinlangzaam, that was a very kind offer. It gives a warm fuzzy feeling when humans are prepared to go the extra mile to help other humans
I think I found one, ordered it yesterday on a place called Shop To. I had never heard of them before. The reviews make it look legit, hoping it wasn't a rip off, but have used paypal to be safe.

Shopto are pretty good, have bought games off them a few times and they know their stuff.

Hope he's 12 or older. Apparently it can damage your ability to judge distances if used for extended periods of time any younger than 12.
Pain in the backside as I only found out after purchasing it for my kids, ages 5 and 13.
This sounded a bit like scaremongering (they haven't been out long enough to cause any harm yet, even if they are harmful), so a quick google found some nice summaries of discussions where experts have given statements discussing theoretical harm if used for long periods, based on the screens being so close to the eyes (similar to using a phone or tablet for extended periods). However, also some further discussion which seemed to dispute that due to the way VR has you focus beyond where the screen is.Pain in the backside as I only found out after purchasing it for my kids, ages 5 and 13.
Summaries given everywhere I've seen are the usual for all new technologies: we don't know for sure, so be careful with children, but there's no evidence to say that this should be any more harmful for a child than an adult when used sensibly. The manufacturer age ratings will be based on them playing it safe until the technology has been around long enough to judge it accurately.

It takes an adults eyes a while to adjust to it and there can sometimes be a bit of an odd sensation after using VR for a bit, better to err on the side of caution I'd say.
