Call Handing & Virtual Reception
Discussion
As a busy small engineering firm we are often all out of the office on site.
With mobile reception being so patch we are getting more and more missed calls from clients.
We have used BT's divert on no answer for years, but are now finding it more often than not doesn't divert, as the mobile has no service.
So I'm contemplating using one of these call handling companies.
The ones that take your calls (answering in your name) and send you a text or email message with the details.
Any one tried them or got any experience/recommendations?

For one business, we use Moneypenny. Very very good. You are assigned a couple of people who get to know your business, to some degree... they answer in your co. name and simply take a message. Sounds professional and people feel like they've spoken to someone. You get an email with name, number and query to follow up when you get a chance.

Very professional web site! What sort of costs?
Last I checked, it was around the £190, per month, mark. When we looked, there were monthly charge, flat rate; answer up to X amount of calls - and then there were X amount, per call offerings... and then a mix of the two. Best to work out how many calls you get - and see who is the most affordable, reputable, one for your needs. You don't want to pay a lot per month if you get a low volume of calls; in that case, look at the cost per call offerings. To be honest, your post has reminded me to look into our own setup and see if there's anything better out there.
I'm currently using Simply66 at around £30-£40 a month depending on call volumes, but I often listen to the recorded calls and they're not the most endearing or engaging and come across as not really knowing a lot about the business.
Been researching a few other options and currently considering www.answer.co.uk as a simple PAYG service..
I had a virtual office with Liscard Business Centre, liked it so much I now have a physical office there!
They do call answering with a real professional, personal touch. Not just for local clients either, I know they've got a few big names in London for example. http://www.liscardbusinesscentre.com/telephone-ans...
