Which accessories do you have that you couldn't live without?

I've just ordered one of these after being shown one on a photography course. A quick Google suggests they are quite widely used and liked:

I was wondering if there were any other bits and bobs I should consider adding to my "arsenal".

BlackRapid strap - I was dubious about the benefits, but I can happily walk round all day with a full-frame body and big zoom lens hanging off it. Infinitely better than hanging around the neck and bouncing off your stomach as you walk....

I always have an L plate on my cameras now
A $1.20 carabina on my camera bag lets me clip it to my tripod (or elsewhere) nice and securely.

The Op/Tech Pro camera straps are great; particularly with heavier setups. Love mine!

L plate and BR strap here too. The L plate in particular just makes tripod stuff so much easier. I always end up buying a remote timer for any camera I own too.

Arca-Swiss compatible L-plates.. got them fitted to all my cameras, plus fitting a A-S compatible panorama head on-top of the regular ballhead makes a huge improvement in the practicality of my tripod.

Good thread idea

Like others said about the sling strap thingy, that's great, but I use my nd x10 filter from breakthrough the most, but I like long exposures :-)

Ahh yes, forgot about my pano clamp thing. Perfect partner for an L bracket. Worth getting one with a built in level.

Recently starting playing with a geared tripod head as well. Slow but so easy to work with compared to the trial and error of ball heads.

Well I haven't got many but for me it would be a toss up between my Manfrotto 055 XPRoB tripod and my Yangnuo 568 flash. Get more use out of the former but I enjoy the challenge of using the latter, especially on full manual mode to balance ambient and flash light (or try to anyway!)

I will see what Santa brings..... smile

Another BR strap convert here, makes carrying the camera around all day a breeze which means I am more likely to have the camera with me and thus more likely to take some pictures smile

Ok here's an odd one, mines a pair of gloves that are made with the index finger and thumb open.
Fantastic at keeping hands warm when out in the winter but still operate all the camera buttons.

^ people here tend to buy hunting gloves as the trigger finger can be pulled back

Monopod and cable release.

Gets my camera where I can't go.

Whilst L-plates also come high in my list, my main criticism of digital SLRs has always been the viewfinders.

Since my "Brick" I've always pimped them with a magnifying eyeglass and an eyecup (IIRC it's the DK-17 and DM-19). Just need to get good view around all four corners.

Sorry for bagging two items but I don't think either of my bodies would be as pleasant to use without them.

I literally use a CPL constantly.

But then I mainly take photos of cars.
