Panamoz/HDEW v UK model

I need to replace my stolen camera and considering buying a Nikon D7200. Am I missing something or is it not a much better deal to buy from Panamoz/HDEW not so much for the price but the warranty?

That's what I understood i.e I can't send it to Nikon UK/Europe to be repaired under warranty.

Can't comment on whether nikon would fix it but got my 7200 from Hdew, great service and not had any issues with the stuff I've ordered from them.

Likewise, I've bought three items from them including a camera, good service so far. I guess you take your chances with the grey I,port bit, cheaper to buy versus the full UK warranty. However, they offer their own warranty and I felt confident enough o press the button, I would d again too.

Ended up buying a D7200 from Panamoz as with spare batteries etc it worked out cheaper. However I'm pretty disappointed with the camera as it feels so cheap, I am changing from my stolen D3 which was a pro body which until now I had taken for granted.

I'm in two minds whether to send it back and try a D750/810 but the reviews say "D7200 look and feel like a high-quality piece of kit, and it shows – the camera feels and handles like a more expensive model, such as the D610 or the D750." Would other owners say this is accurate?

The D750 isn't a pro body as such, it will feel much the same as the D7200. That said, whilst they feel a step down from the truly pro bodies, they're well screwed together. The D750 can take a lot of abuse, as many wedding photographers can testify.

The D500 is built like a tank, and is the only real option you have for a 'cheaper' pro body.

Just bought the Canon 24-70 F2.8 L Mk2 I've been deliberating over for ages, HDEW had knocked a few quid off in an early Boxing Day sale and were similar in price to Panamoz, but unlike Panamoz, they'll ship before January and there's a free gift in it too, no idea what that is though, probably a cleaning cloth...

The fact I, in no way can warrant purchasing such a lens with my skill level is neither here nor there, but with a baby around I'm finding I'm using the camera a lot more now and the nifty fifty, whilst great, has meant a few wider angle shots have been missed.

Does present a nice and easy New Years resolution for me to try and up my photography game to make the best of the lens.

It's a lovely lens. Good glass = good investment. Post some results when you've get it.
