Neighbours and crap delivery.
Discussion
What we think of this chaps.
Ordered new brake pads. (380 quids worth)
Delivered via Interlink. Packaged for me to my address.
However interlink delivered to the same number house one road down.
I suspected this had happened so got my Mrs to go to the house.
No answer.
Phoned Interlink. Driver went back 10 mins later.
Apparently the house refused initially to give up the goods! Claiming they were and theirs as they were "expecting deliveries".
Then only when the Interlink driver stood his ground did they eventually give the package back.
I had a thought to go round and have a word about it being a bit t
ttish but do we have any other funnier ideas for retribution or should I be the bigger man

Because I wasnt in the driver took it to a near neighbours house. They cut a hole in the box and took out the loose packed food.
They denied all knowledge when I went to pick up the hamper. they didnt know that the driver took a pic of the parcel before it left his van.

I used to get this a lot. We lived in a cul-de-sac called Swan Place and regularly got mail crossed over with same number at Swan Road a few hundred yards away. Fortunately they weren't dicks and I'd like to think I'm not a dick either.
My wife bought a Christmas present for me once which we got the red Royal Mail slip through the door for. I went to the sorting office with slip and was told it had already been signed for. I protested that this wasn't possible as I was holding their card and I hadn't signed anything. She produced a computer print out from their system showing a clear signature from a woman with an entirely different name. The wifey behind the armoured glass shrugged and said I must have given her proof of ID. I wrote a formal complaint about sorting office malpractice and blatant lying to Royal Mail, but I also decided that the woman who signed for the package that I expect she was erroneously given was a Grade A c**t as the vendor never received any contact about it. One has to assume she took a package home addressed to a different name at a different address, with a fairly specialised item inside she almost certainly had no use for and likely just binned it.
I never followed up, but A) I hope the woman at the sorting office was disciplined and B) Mrs S***y W****s is a fud.

I hope they were punished for this? As a distance seller who tried hard to please customers it doesn't sit well at all when dishonest people can act like this without retribution. It's not a victimless crime. They denied all knowledge when I went to pick up the hamper. they didnt know that the driver took a pic of the parcel before it left his van.

Our local sorting office is hopelessly slow and seemingly disorganised. The packages look like they are stored in street name order but there is an overflow area out the back but no plan about when something is moved to the overflow, so they end up going out the back for ages then coming back to the counter and find the item right behind them.Gareth79 said:

I use them from time to time as one of their stores is along from my work.
Definitely helpful if you A) have one near you and B) you don't mind going to them to collect said parcels.

Local Morrisons store (city centre location) has this, staffed by two people. Will prove popular with students, I reckon. I use them from time to time as one of their stores is along from my work.

Jamie's tale is bad as wellThey denied all knowledge when I went to pick up the hamper. they didnt know that the driver took a pic of the parcel before it left his van.
But this really takes the biscuit. I would have been absolutely fuming.

Do you know it was definitely there? I regularly end up in my local post office picking up parcels that aren't there. What happens is the postman starts writing the card, my neighbour pops out and signs for it and the postman doesn't bother to alter the card to say it's now not going to be at the post office. The post office always print me a copy of his signature to prove they've not got it.My wife bought a Christmas present for me once which we got the red Royal Mail slip through the door for. Another rant, figured rather than making another thread.
Ordered loads of pipework, parts etc for my engine rebuild from ASH hoses.
Checked tracking, showing as delivered and left in a "safe place" (front porch).
Got home, no package.
Either stolen by a yoof or by the driver
Emailed ASH as it was 7pm on a Friday, to their full credit they phoned me back and ordered a re-delivery for today on a 24hr SIGNED FOR courier.
My Mrs was out and I was at work, she got home to find a big package left outside my home. It was the redelivered goods.
No-one has signed for it. I'm at work, my Mrs was out... it's not with a neighbour, clearly, as it's outside my door in the rain
And online tracking does not show any signature.
What's the point of signed for if it doesn't need signing.............

Probably took some crackers and cheese too But this really takes the biscuit. I would have been absolutely fuming.

I have a safe location for stuff to be put if I'm not in, still doesn't stop the odd delivery being dropped off with my neighbours. Which is fine, but they keep odd hours, which normally means I can't get a hold of em until the weekend to get my parcel.
