Are there any of these with cd changers still left or have they bitten the dust with the advent of MP3 and USB

Pretend its for a friend or relative
Agree about the hideous
Can you get cd changers with decent sound now Sony or JVC, or have they all bitten the dust?

If 'used' is an option you could do far worse than a nice little Teac system from a few years back - I have one doing sterling service in the garage and it has a 5 disc CD changer (although it gets more use with a Logitech Touch feeding the amp).

Google Teac reference 500 for an idea of what they look like - surprisingly good sound with decent speakers on the end.

This is what I was talking about:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TEAC-H500-570-HI-FI-SYST...

A few notches above the all-in-one systems in both looks, build quality and sound quality.

They're half-width cases around 20cm wide although the amp in particular is quite deep.

Those are both pretty good but no turntable frown

This one has but it leaves the LP poking out the side as a dust catcher - what's the point of that?
Doesnt have a CD changer either

You're asking for the moon on a stick really.

You either have to compromise on:

i) Not being all in one box
ii) Reliability - I don't fancy the reliability of an old all in one with turntable and cd changer
iii) Not being absolutely ste - the two things you have posted would sound absolutely appalling, I would not touch them with someone else's.

If you want a turntable as well then get a used stack system with a CD changer and a separate turntable. Either a stack system with a built in phono stage, or, a turntable with a preamp built in - which you can get nowadays.

This.

I read the OP and thought a CD changer was the main interest.

OP, do yourself a favour and save a few bob up - add a starter deck (with line level out or separate phononstage) to a Denon or Teac system.

this is the worst of it - the few current all in ones - they claim 8 in 1 have 2.5W of power
How is that going to sound any good?
