Alfa GTV spider, windows question

Hi All
My brother has just bought a 1999 TS Veloce spider, and he wants to know whether....When you open the door, should the window drop down a few inches? His doe`s not and it catches the roof when opening and shutting any thoughts?

Depends on when it was built. It was just about that time that they introduced the auto-drop mechanism. Before it, the window glass needs to push past the seals when you open & close the door.

Actually, just noticed its a Spider, not a GTV. Therefore I'm not sure if they do the dropping thing at all... Sorry

I had a late '97 spider and the windows didn't drop in that. Then again, they didn't catch either.
