Im working hard to make my Yamaha RX-A3010 the heart of my hifi / home cinema.

All my music is on an Acer Revo One mini pc and is connected to the Yamaha by HDMI, primarily to get the Driver interface up on my TV. At the same time the ACET outputs audio to the DAC via USB for processing.

The DAC, doing all the digital / analogue conversion is output via rca phono to the Yamaha.

MY question is that have I got two audio streams going into the Yamaha and if so is there a hierarchy or does it matter?

HDMI will pass digital audio as well as video and the phonos carry analogue audio to the amp at the same time.

Ideally I want the video via HDMI (easy) and the audio from the mac using the DAC to do the processing.

The AV4 connection has options for HDMI, optical in, phono etc but surely I should only input one audio signal into each input on the amp?

Thanks

Hope that makes sense.
