Iphone integration

on my 2008 DB9, in the central cubby box there is a USB port and a strange looking port that looks like it takes some sort of propreiaty cable for ipod/iphone connection. The stereo has options for iPod and USB in the menu. What is this strange cable, and where do I get one?

Just a thought....

The early version of the box that the above cable plugs into didn't charge later Ipod/Iphone, so you may need to change that at the same time.

They can be bought together;

Is there a way to tell if you have the newer version that would charge the Iphone, year of manufacture etc? I don't have a cable for mine but the connector is there, its a 2012 V8VS.

If you get the cable on its own and it doesn't work, then you can get the connector box on its own as well, Aston Martin bits show both.

I bought the upgrade kit from Nicholas Mee. From memory the kit (cable plus connecter that allows charging) was not much difference in price from the cable alone.

I bought one of eBay for less than $20 and it works perfectly, it even charges the phone.

Sorry I’m advance a little late to the party but google brought up this forum. Will the adapter cable work in a 2011 Rapide? If so do you have the part number ? Thank for any help!
