I need to store a few suits for a long period of time (couple of years probably). What's the best way to store them?

In a wardrobe. Not hung from a tree in the garden.

Very good point.

It is also recommended that the suit is placed on a hanger and hung from the rail of the cupboard. The cupboard will ideally be a cool, dry place with 40% relative humidity.

Hey Moose, how many years have you got ? I thought the laws on these "things" were less strict now ?

BTT : Should you not put the suit in one of these beautifully advised vacuum bags ?

They take less storage space and the smell does not attract moths.

Then when you have bailed out you can wear whatever suits you.

And in one of those carriers that you get from the dry cleaners to keep the dust off.

My own wedding suit, which is perfectectly serviceable and still fits, has survived this way for over 30years.

If you don't put it in a sealed bag then something will eat it.

I just got some of those bags. They're great fun.

Put a suit, shirt and tie in one and it would be like an astronaut thing. Suit-o-matic or something.

Probably.

Depending on the definition of "couple of years", possibly in a Salvation Army bag? With fashion/ styles changing fast nowadays, chances are you wouldn't be seen dead in that suit in a few years from now getmecoat

If you don't need something for a couple of years, then you don't need it.

Get rid, and buy new in a few years time!
