Sorry about the title but I'm a shade cross.
Our local nincompoops about one year ago started a waste recycling scheme. Wheely bin collections of normal waste went from weekly to fortnightly. We were all given two plastic bins for recyclables, one for plastic, glass, cans etc and the other for paper and cloth.
Now they have decided to change the system. The two plastic bins will be scrapped and replaced with another wheely bin. Recyclables will no longer have to be segregated as before plastic vs paper, it all will go into the new second wheely bin.
So far?
The rub is that the special vehicles bought will no longer be suitable for the new scheme, so they are having to "scrap" £1 million quids worth of vehicles between 1-2 years old.
You just couldn't make it up could you!

All councillors and council staff have to pass an entrance exam, which goes something like this:
1) Do you need help tying your own shoelaces?
2) Do you enjoy throwing away thousands of pounds of other people's money?
3) Are you excited by pointless trivia?
4) Are you proud to have not the foggiest idea of what is important to local residents?
5) Are you good at coming up with really expensive stupid ideas?
6) Are you an incompetent t
t?
Candidates scoring less than 100% are given the option of having two nails inserted in their skull and connected to the mains until they pass.

That's environmentally friendly then ![]()
I wonder if they recycled enough materials to build the vehicles in the first place and provided enough alternative energy to run the things![]()
I seriously hope they don't actually mean scrap!!!!
Well considering these were "special order" vehicles and the problem is that the system being used does not "fit" with the system adopted by the rest of the county I would suggest the secondhand value of these vehicles will be equal to square root of beggar all.
