This argument point is widespread, not just Fox. Besides, The NeW York Times, BBC, & CNN are Left Wing Propaganda machines, but everyone seemed happy and content with quoting them! Hint: Read & stick to the subject and quit being so obviously anti-Bush, that is so stale! People can float a subject that has Bush's name somewhere in the verbage then remove his name from the picture and the same group of people being polled will give two different opinions. This is a dead giveaway!
To continue: Open your eyes and see the grand picture. When a world-wide organization tries to actually state that there is really no "natural disasters" everything is man's fault, it is obvious that environmentalists with EXTREME views are using current or popular debates to force their philosophies on the world. They don't really give a damn about the stated goal, it is just a vehicle to push their sub-schemes like, taking away your sports car, taking away your too-large property, taking away fishing rights, etc. Wake up! To even entertain what they are proposing is insane.

Jimbeaux, any way you can make your point without name calling. As far as I'm concern you now sound like (or worse) than the chap last week that said all Americans are stupid. OK, his 'source' is not known for it's impartiality, but then show me a medium which isn't....
His point is a valid one though.
Whilst the principle behind the UN is admirable, it has descended into an organisation strangled by red tape and procedural wranglings.
As ever in these situations, the worst 'offenders' are those who bring little or nothing to the table, but are determined to make their voices heard.

As Im on the subject of getting the facts, perhaps you should investigate rather than just reading Fox and going off on one.
Steve Milloys article begins by commenting on the fact that the UN is having a conference entitled "World Conference on Disaster Reduction" compared to a 1994 conference entitled "World Conference on Natural Disaster Reduction”.
Steve takes this to mean that the UN now sees all disasters as man made, and launches into his standard anti global warrming speech.
You swallowed this hook line and sinker.

If you read what the UN conference discussed you see that that the Fox article is pure spin.
The conference discuused everything from Aids to Volcanoes.They were trying to deal with the practialities of what is happening in the world today.
Not laying the blame for everything on global warming.

You may disagree with what the UN does, but i would not advise basing it on Steve Milloy articles, he has his own agenda and is not a reliable journalist.

Disasters come in all shapes & forms, some natural, some manmade. Why get arsey because an organisation wants to increase it's scope to cover those which we have more control over than a tsunami caused by an earthquake.

You do, and worse. Murdoch forcing his agenda on us via a huge range of media. The Daily Mail scaring the living daylight out of middle England with their distortions. The Guardian living in some historic unreconstructed socialist heaven. We have a handful of meglomaniacs forcing their view of the world on the English public and they are very, very successful at it. I have had personal dealing with a few national news stories and most British media do not let the facts get in the way of a good story.
Go to Google news and at the bottom you can click to see the news as reported in different countries, often you won't recognise the stories. The Economist is a reasonably intelligent weekly newspaper and once a fortnight Private Eye gives it's take on what is really going on. These are about all I read now.

I also read the Economist once a week-it offers a different point of view and helps to correct the Brito-centric view of the rest of our media.
However it still has it's own angle-and after a reading a pean of praise to speed cameras a couple of months ago (which I wrote a letter of complaint about) I would not take everything it says as the gospel truth.
