I have ordered a brand new Polo GTI, 3 door in black with my only option being the front centre armrest from Peter Cooper in Southampton. I got an extremely good deal, helped by CarWow which means I would be surprised if it lost any value in the first 12-24 months of ownership. It arrives in March and I am stupidly excited as its the first car I have ever personally bought.

However, it seems to be bugging me as to whether it will come with a full tank of fuel. It never occurred to me to be as something to negotiate when I placed the order. Does anyone here have any experience in this; when taking delivery of a new VW or from Peter Cooper?

Thank you.

I'd guess you'd get no more than 1/4 of a tank. But a full tank is circa £50 vs. a great saving you've made that I'm guessing is a good few thousand pounds. They are nice and economical too (relatively speaking), so just relax and enjoy smile

Yes indeed. I can't wait to have 190hp, 6 speed manual with the torque so low in the rev range, should surprise some bigger cars with that poke. FYI 0-60 is only 2.1 seconds slower than a Cayman GT4.....!

Sorry but you'll almost certainly lose a chunk of money immediately on the car.

Nice car though.

Mr Barry, I paid considerably less than list. There are many on piston heads and auto trader with 5-10k miles plus and some 18 months old for up to and in excess of £2k more. It certainly leaves some comfort for the first couple of years of ownership

thats good in itself, but vw are shifting them atm for around £16k potentially nearer to £15.5k with no options for a factory order.

I used Peter Cooper after my local dealer said I didn't look like I could afford an R.

Ordered 3 R's from them in the end and they were brilliant. Cars were transported up still in their wrappers and didn't have much fuel.

Still...if they hadn't delivered it would have been two tanks to get home at least as they're a 1000 mile round trip so can't complain really.

Im looking at a new Polo gti 5dr dsg for the other half and using a well known broker have managed to get the price down to £17k incl metallic paint and a couple of other options which i think is terrific value as im seeing used ones more expensive (without discounts).

The dealer has offered a full tank of fuel if i pick the car up or free delivery within 100 miles..which i am.

enjoy..
