Chaps,

Looking for suggestions on a decent Xbox game that I can play with my 8-yr old daughter during the holidays, doesn't need to be free but needs to be something she'll enjoy and is age-appropriate (so no blood-and-guts shootemups!)

We played Joyride Turbo together earlier this year and both enjoyed it, but it doesn't have to be a driving game, just something we can play 2-player at the same time (e.g. split-screen).

Any suggestions welcomed!

Can you get any of the Mario Kart games on Xbox? Failing that the Lego games are fun.

Any of the Lego games that require two player building/puzzle solving (eg Star Wars, it may be old but its good)

Try downloading Stardew Valley. It's only £12 but is a beautifully made game, essentially a recreation of what Harvest Moon was doing in the 'Back To Nature' glory days. You'll love it and so will your daughter. Simple to get started with, very deep and addictive once you get into it.

Toy Story is pretty good. Lego games are fantastic. My four year old can play them on his own with minimal assistancesmile

^ this, I'm on my forties and love playing them with my 8yo daughter. More importantly, so does she.

Minecraft is a good shout - though I always found the 2 player mode a bit claustrophobic.

A board game / couloring book / craft stuff would be much more fun and involving. How about you buy some bolster wood and make a dolls house or something? Let your daughter design it on paper / using Lego and then let her help you build it.

Just a thought. smile

A nice thought, however it's her mum that is the artistic/creative one, I am the bodger of the household!

Thanks for the suggestions folks, appreciate it. My daughter has helped me build a couple of the larger Lego Technic kits in the past, and I seem to recall we did have some sort of Lego game for the Xbox that was a short demo version only so that could be a good shout to buy the full version.

we set up a minecraft server on a raspberry pi and limit access to the daughters friends. They use steam for voice comms.

In addition to the usual suspects (Lego, minecraft) Rocket League is a brilliantly fun game.

motocross madness gets hours of family entertainment as does that one by Ubisoft https://www.microsoft.com/en-GB/store/p/Trials-Fus...

Some great x360 games still available via the arcade too.

I'm the same. But your daughter won't care if you can't draw it's about having a laugh together. Plus it's the sense of achievement and being able to say me and my dad made that! It's important.
