As per title, I quite like the GTA ones where you can spawn a tank/helicopter etc

Gran Turismo 6 you could get a vision car delete the 1st game patch then sell it for a lot of credits. Then with them credits buy the vision cars and delete patch and sell for even more money. Repeat a few times and I had every car in the game was definetley a lot better than trying to grind to get the Ferrari 250GTO

If you are talking about one player games then fine, if you are talking about online then I don't cheat and despise people that do.

A clever one was the Medieval cheat, using the controller to input the command 'TOO TOOT LOUD ROLL TROLL TO DOOR'.

I had a Game Genie for the Mega Drive. Loads of good cheats to be had there, not least of all because back in those days some games were absolutely nails to complete and there was no YouTube to see the ending of the games. So the fact that i could actually play games like Desert Strike all the way through to the end was great smile

A recent but cool one was the wall glitch on the Golgoroth boss fight on Destiny, where you could slide through a wall and glitch inside a wall, which aggro the boss to you while being impervious to damage from him, allowing your team to wreck him without having to dodge any fire from him. It quickly became redundant once people had high enough light to beat him without needing to cheese it.

Changing the code in a few old ELectron games* so that the "game over" proc started when number of lives equalled 99 rather than -1/0, and then running that code. Infinite lives for ~10 year old me.

More of a hack than a cheat though.

  • Cavern Capers is the only one I can remember doing this on now.

They were pretty good !

I liked the glitch on GTA 4 in the park with the swings.
Hours of fun that was.

Holding down the L+R shoulder buttons when selecting character on Rock & Roll racing (SNES) to get Olaf as a playable character... (From the lost vikings - by the same dev. team)

Do the same thing in Super Mario World to be able to re-enter castles you've already beaten.

Best glitch was in Red Dead Redemption online. For whatever reason I spawned onto a map without any NPCs, so was able to just keep walking in and out of gang hideouts getting XP every time, hitting level 60 in about 10 minutes. In the original Command & Conquer you could just build a sandbag wall around the enemy base AI base since they were never programmed to destroy them
