Massive petrol spil
Discussion
It was dark, I was filling up and gazing at the pump in a dream state (it was pumping very slowly). After finishing, I very luckily noticed a massive pool of petrol at my feet! The pump had somehow managed to overflow whilst pumping, and the entire back of the cerbera was completely drenched in petrol, dripping down past the numberplate, all along the rear difusser, down under, and onto the ground!! My car flames like crazy and Id likely have a charcoal coloured tail section had I not washed it down before driving off

I ended up pouring the contents of a 5 liter water bottle all over the back of the car and mopping it up, then got in car and was about to drive off when garage attendant came out to remind me I owed him 40 quid
Your not the first and you won't be the last mate. I did exactly the same whilst filling the Chim.

I was called to a dispute at a petrol station where the forecourt had a sharp incline. The driver of a Bristol 411 or 412 had parked along the slope and had filled up. Unfortunately, there is a filler cap on each side of the car and, I assume, the one on the downside was faulty. As the somewhat dippy driver (a barrister) had put petrol in one side it had come out the other. The dispute was over whether the chap was obliged to pay for the fuel. He reckoned that the attendant had a duty of care to ensure that customers (of dubious mental ability) did not put over 20 gallons into a car that could only take 15.
It ended up, I'm happy to say, with the barrister, a foul-mouthed chappie, paying up, but only after nearly an hour of negotiation during which he called me 'stupid'. I told him that, though I might be somewhat lacking in the brain department, even I could work out that 20 gallons of fuel will not go into a tank, the capacity of which was 15. We did not part the best of friends.
A waste of petrol and a waste of time.

Had to perform a special widgery-doo upwards and sideways squirting manuover (something Ive never done with my pants on before) with the nozzle just to get the old girl to take in the juice. The cerb is class in that respect though, thrust in the big nozzle, pump to your hearts content, no spillage, except erm, that one time
I couldn't spill more than half a spoonful if I tried.
The bloody thing probably cuts out twenty times per fill.
Point was, well chuffed I spotted the leak. My car does flame every 30 seconds, and if you'd seen the amount of spilt petrol(!!!) Just happy to have spotted it before starting up and driving off

Bob..... flame great :bigthumb: up
Is this down to you decatting it ..... or did it do it before. Just wondering.... looking at some Griff 500's be nice to have a mobil flame thrower for cooking sausages![]()
Not sure I have the balls to walk into garage and say make it spit flames
ALL THE TIME

If the chim has the same fuel tank as the griff, then you need to rotate the nozzle 90 degrees. Insert it side-on as normal, then rotate it anti-clockwise until the trigger is towards the back of the car.
My griff cuts out all the time when filling sideways, but filling from the back (so to speak) it never cuts out until full.
