Vodaphone have offered me £50 to stay with them for another 12 months. Makes me think they are on to a good thing and I am missing a better deal elsewhere.
I have 200 anytime, any network minutes for £25 a month and usually have another 20-30 texts to pay for. I rarely use up my minutes these days, as we don't have a clear signal from home, so it is used when out and about only.
Anybody seen deals which might suit? All the offers are so confusing, rather hear from someone who has a package that they have seen working.

I'd probably recommend getting onto a '3' Package, as in the network '3'. It uses 3G technology which gives a greater range of services (video calling, route finder, news reports, etc).
Coverage for '3' content is getting better and better all the time, and when you're out of range the signal roams onto O2 (which has the best overall coverage anyway). It does this automatically and you don't notice or pay any extra when it does. As your coverage is already poor at home, you will only see the benefits of moving network. In fact I wouldn't be suprised if the coverage on the '3' phone was was better, when at home, than the vodafone you're with now. It certainly is in my house in Yorkshire. This would mean you could use the '3' phone at home instead of the house phone if you so wished. I'd ask an assistant at a local phoneshop about '3' coverage, just to be sure.
Your £25 per month will get you 500 minutes per month any time, any network (including land-lines). You'll also get some free inclusive text messages per month(normally 50, and sometimes more if you find a deal). You'll also get a free phone (LG models are good at the mo) free connection and free handset insurance. There are cheaper packages available that give less minutes, so you may find the £15 package is sufficient.
'3' is an up-and-coming network and as such, the deals are pretty good at the moment. The deal I mention above should be available in any high street store (Carphonewarehouse, Link, etc), and you may be able to find an even better deal if you search hard enough.
The only downside I've ever noticed is that the customer services are pretty poor, and many of the call operators seem to be based in India and have very little concept of the problems you might be having in England. Having said that, I've been with '3' for 2 years and have only had to call them once, about a week after starting my first contract. I've been problem-free since then.
The handsets available for '3' are fairly limited in terms of choice, and the phone's themselves are not the smallest on the market, although the last 6 months has seen great improvements.
Overall, I can't recommend them enough. For the money you pay, I'd say you could do a lot worse.

I was in a similar position last month, so thought I'd shop around. As I'm happy with Orange, and my Sony P900, I thought I'd try and cash in on the new contract offers. I wasn't fussed with keeping my old number (which can't be transferred onto a *new* contract with Orange), so I got this deal. I get half-price line rental for 9 months, plus a brand new Nokia 6230 and bluetooth headset - both of which are going on Ebay later today. If I'm lucky I'll be up by £250 all in.

I agree. This is an absolute snatch. Use mine for both business and leisure and all for £20 - £25.

I love the torch on the front, it's so handy.
Be aware you have got to apply for cashback on this deal but this seems normal these days, I have had cashback from them on a previous contract. They are part of Carphone Warehouse so not an unknown name.

The off-peak tariffs on O2 are good as long as you only use them off-peak - any on-peak use and the costs can skyrocket. I was with O2 Online right the way through uni (and still have a Pay & Go sim for the 300 free texts per month) but the bills started sailing past £50 a month.
Changed it for an anytime tariff and bills dropped again, and then realised '3' would be even cheaper.
The O2 Online anytime tariffs are very cheap though when compared with vodafone, orange, etc, and so that might be worth a look. Network coverage is excellent.
