Hi i want to move the temp sensor on my chim.

I have the later cabont instruments

So need an adaptor to go from the original rover sebsor thread in the top of the manifold to the thread in the tvr sensor.

Does anyone know what the two thread sizes are and any where that sells them.

Cheers G

If you add an adapter you may find that it lifts the sensor surface out of the coolant flow. This is the reason the original sensor position fails to work, the coolant around the sensor is stagnant so slow to respond and can suffer from air cooling

I had to have one made so that the probe is fully into the manifold.

You can re thread the original sensor on a lathe which l did , so no need for an adapter. It was tight, screwing it past the fuel rail but it worked.

Unfortunately l don't remember the thread, but 3/8 BSW rings a bell.

The other downside was that the gauge was reading 10 degrees higher than the original housing in the valley gasket and showed fans cutting in at 100 and not 90, so l bought another one and moved in back smile

Bought this (part number ETC6547) google it. Had it cut down and an internal thread put in IYSWIM.
