Hope this is a good place to post this question.......

We are travelling from Putney to Bude two days before Christmas(I know, I know!!!) and would like a decent place to break the journey for some lunch
.
Needs to be resonably close to M4/M5 and a couple of hours into the journey.

Four adults

Any suggestions much appreciated

Thanks

Mike

2 hours into that journey? I'd say the White Cross at Richmond Bridge

Not answering your question directly, but I would travel via A3 and A303 if making that journey (as I do each summer) - it's a much nicer drive.

You'd then be looking at places around Wincanton or thereabouts. You could even take lunch at the Haynes International Motor Museum or the Fleet Air Arm Museum (if they're open).

No apology necessary - I actually looked it up -

Will look into that suggestion of A3, but don't think we'll have time for any visits

Journey was not as bad as I thought.
Found a great pub just of M4/M5 at Almondsbury, called the Bowl Inn
Proper local with lovely food

And almost exactly two hours into the trip

Now having to deal with 'in laws' issues!! Deep joy!!
