I am getting a message on my 2009 DB9 that an Emission Service is Required. Any idea what this could mean? All emissions checks were 100% fine three months ago.

I typed your title into the search:

It came up with about 12 threads on the same subject.

After I replaced the coil packs and PCV valves on my 2005 DB9 I got that message and the engine went into limp mode.

My mistake was after the work was completed I didn't reset the faults codes using a OBDII reader, after I reset the codes everything was ok.

Try plugging in a OBDII reader and see if you get any codes, but be aware that you might not get the full story as a generic OBDII reader will only see one side of the V12 as there are 2 ECU's, the reader will only read the primary ECU and not the secondary ECU, to get get the full information you need to go to a dealership.

I can't speak for the V12, but on the V8 this often relates to having an aftermarket exhaust and/or O2 sensors being dodgy. My V8 (custom exhaust) will throw this error every few months. I read the error using an OBD scanner (U480 £10 from eBay) make a note of the code and reset the code. I then google the code which is in my case always related to the exhaust and it's sensors. In your case I'd read the code and google it to see what it actually means.

Thanks for the response. I do not have a reader so it is off to the dealer to see what his computer shows. I hope it is a simple fix.

Needs new gas (petrol) filler cap. Was not sealing properly. $300 US.

That sounds like a result to me. Merry Christmas.
