They're fairly bullet proof cars. But things I would watch for:

1. Paint bubbling. Check particularly closely around mirrors and door handles. Don't let it put you off a car, but if you see it make sure the dealer fixes it as part of the purchase

2. There was a problem with earlier cars and oil starvation/running too low. Corrected with a shorter dipstick, not entirely sure when this came in though

3. Check electrical items are all working correctly, things like the AM module on the radio can go fairly regularly (not that anyone listens much to AM now)

Oh and definitely buy Grants book for all the model details/ year variants. Sticky at top of forum

This seems to be a common response to a lot of questions but unless I'm doing something stupid (or missing a key filter somewhere) whenever I try to search for something it searches the whole of Pistonheads? When really I just want to filter on posts in this Aston Martin section of the forum? The result is pages and pages of unrelated crap to sift through frown

google search is a lot better than PH forum search and often turns up PH threads anyway wink

did try a quick search but got a lot of noise. Nothing quite related to my budget..... thanks for the inputs so far. It seems if I can stretch to a >2006 model and potentially a manual, they are preferred. But they are more.....

DB9 buying gives over 400 responses yes. But the top three includes:
