Car to use as daily driver around London but something to enjoy when commuting out of London.

Requirements : will not depreciate like a stone, 4 door, presentable looks, prefer something with panoramic roof, <40k miles on the clock.
Budget : around 35k ish (happy to spend more if worthwhile)

mercedes cls 63. 30k (seems to be good value at 30k)
porsche panemera turbo. 45k (will it hold value?, is it too big for London roads for parking)
bmw m6 gran coupe 45k (think this one will depreciate quite hard)
audi rs7 (depreciation?)
maserati quattroporte (heavy running costs compared to others)

If an IS is large enough, RS5 sportback, M3? Maser ghibli? (not sure if cheap enough)

I have the older CLS63 (the 6.2V rather than turbo) and I love it. I would say the only down side to it is the fuel consumption but by the looks of the list you've picked, that's not too much of a worry.

currently have cls500, should have gone for cls63 at the time, bought the 500 because of the fuel savings lol as at that time when I was buying there was marginal difference between cls63 and 500. What a stupid idea that turned out to be lol ended up with the same fuel consumption but without the smiles per mile

Lovely car you have, but for less can get the cls63 with the full fat engine. Cls has depreciated a lot from initial high price

I have a 500 and it averages 20 MPG in my use, I suspect an AMG one might be marginally more expensive on fuel but cant imagine there is that much in it, I got mine as it was cheap for what it was and it still goes like stink.

The later CLS63 is in the 500 and odd bhp range, 650 is possible with a remap, though I cant imagine the standard car is exactly lacking.

They must be the most characterful cars of the lot. Just worried about depreciation on those, they just seem to plummet quickly.

Buy a 5 year old one for less than 30k and keep it under Jag warranty.

Won't depreciate as much and still risk free.

I'll say the Maserati is worth a good look, having had one looked after by an independent the running costs were pretty decent between £700-1200.00 plus I never tired of the engine & exhaust (admittedly the Larini system helped) note.

Quattroporte

I'd also say don't forget the VXR8 it's a good drive & something you won't see everyday (plus you can make it even more special) it may not be as luxurious as an M6 GC but it'll be newer cheaper rarer when it comes to depreciation these seem to have a good following so hold their money.
