has been lovely here - my other half has even pegged the washing out to dry and i managed to resist the lure of trying to get the lawnmower to start, after 5mnths of being lifeless in the shed (the lawnmower, not me - i think!?).

i managed to clean the motorbike though, and am just off to the supermarket, top down, to get some wine and nibbles to celebrate wales' superb victory today!!

we just need anthony davidson to get a podium tomorrow and it will have been a fine weekend in all respects!

oh, bugger, i almost forgot - sheffield wednesday only got a draw - flipping own goal - d'oh. ah well, could have been worse ...

hope the mx5 has gone to a good new home.

I was in Portsmouth yesterday, with my son, we had coats and fleeces in the car, but were walking around in shirtsleeves. It was like summer. The sky was clear and blue and we sat outside when we had lunch with the new spinnaker towering over us.

Been working on the lawn for the past day and a half. Pretty much wall to wall sunshine in Surrey - and now I'm back inside I discovered I've got a sunburnt neck and face. Unreal!

Got the aircon on here already... that thing's got to be the best 200 quid I ever spent. Guess I'm going to be moaning about the weather for the next 8 months... Is there anywhere on the land surface of the planet that stays between 5 and 15 deg C all year round and doesn't rain more often than 1 day in 10?
