I've never had one of these fitted and do have bonnet lift which I've read these will prevent. Main downside seems to be clearance especially over speed bumps. Would some of the cheap rubber spoiler / lip protector work instead?

Would probably still need fixing with a strip of metal and rivets or bolts instead of relying on the sticky stuff, but would at least survive the odd speed bump.

When I bought my 4.2 the front under spoiler was missing so I had two made by a fellow PHer who made TVR parts ( Simon Dyke perhaps?) and then I had one of them riveted to the bottom of the car by the very helpful guys at Str8Six

That sticky one may be an ideal cheap solution... I wouldn't worry too much about clearance as Ive never really had an issue. The orientation on the Cerbera is key as the original should slant towards the rear, it also acts as ground effect spoiler as it works with the similar one that is at the rear in between my sports exhaust boxes/tails.
They can also be secured with self tappers.

Hi all, if I could just add my two pennies worth? My spoiler was oriented towards the rear of the car from new. I ripped it off accidentally last year, and after some thought, replaced it with a new one facing forward. Now when sprinting at Goodwood this year, the car was a lot more planted under braking for woodcote after the blast down the long straight. I always had brown trouser moments in the past, and couldn't understand or comply with Jes Firth's suggested later braking points. I thought perhaps I was just a wimp, but now wish I'd changed the direction of the spoiler year ago! It would be good to read other people's experiencess. Merry Christmas all, Mark.
Three views of the original mounting position:-

In this position it was impossible to hit a sleeping policeman with it. I did, however, rip it off when I parked too close to a kerb that I overhung

Following the refitting (by an authorised TVR Dealer) you can see that it is now (slightly) further forward….

CER927 - could you post a photo of how your spoiler is now oriented so I can understand exactly what you mean by oriented forward? I spoke to Jason at Str8Six yesterday (having realized after reading this that I don't have a front spoiler at all). He thought that the factory fitted them facing forwards (assuming I understood him correctly... which I may not have done...). Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
