Morning all.

I'm having further issues with my '96 400 Chim, this time with the central locking.

When I depress the RCL key fob, the car responds by flashing its hazards as usual but the locking mechanism fails to engage. The lock car is also failing to lock when using the button on the door knob.

I also noticed yesterday when doing something else on the car that there is a fairly rapid mechanical clicking sound coming from within the dashboard somewhere when a door or both doors are open, but it stops as soon as the doors close.

I have checked the doors are shutting properly and tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but it hasn't helped.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Cheers

A little while since I had a Chim - However, I'd check/clean the door courtesy light switch.

It's located B Post/sill (Vauxhall component) held in by self tapper. I'd clean the internals when switch drawn out of bodywork and make sure the pad on the door itself is present and fully depressing the plastic plunger.

Else it's alarm related?
