I keep my car locked away for the winter. It has only been one month and it is already driving me mad. How do people manage putting their cars away for the winter. I started 2016 with an early morning drive over to Yorkshire and it was a fantastic start to the year. Please tell me if you lock your car away to hibernate how you cope. Merry Humbug Xmas!

Look on the positive side, at least you have your road tax refunded
Mine's off to Works to have some paintwork to have gravel rash removed and a clear film wrap, all ready for our next blasts out.
Have a fab Xmas Darren and will see you soon.

I share your pain. My 599 is tucked away for the winter. I do find that regular doses of single malt whisky somewhat dull the pain, though.
Good idea and as it happens I have just picked up three bottles of single malt. Not sure if I will endure this self induced pain of a tucked away car next year. Do you always put the Fezza away?bentley01 said:

As you have the ultimate "drivers" Aston why put it away, get it out and use it

Please just buy some winter wheels and tyres and stop this madness. What were you thinking?
Merry Xmas,
Pete.
I know I must be mad and it's the first and last time. I knew I was going to be away more than usual and I hate cleaning cars but you are right life is too short. Merry Christmas PetePlease just buy some winter wheels and tyres and stop this madness. What were you thinking?

No, we recently moved house and this is the first time I've been without a garage. I just thought I'd struggle to use the 599 enough in the depths of winter and therefore would be best to have it on a trickle charger. Seeing subsequent posts on this thread I am having doubts about that now, though!
I agree my beast is coming back out. Merry Christmas
My 4.7 is little used during each winter.
However, I did take it for a drive yesterday. One of its four weekly, 35 mile maintenance runs.
Sunshine and dry roads, seemed ideal.
Quite a shock to discover, that the roads looked dry, but had little grip. Some fairly light acceleration made the back break away. No harm done, thanks to my instant reactions, or perhaps it was the DSC.

By my calculations Jon your tyres are now probably 7 to 8 years old and even if there's loads of tread left on them the compound will be brick hard and useless in these conditions. Treat your Vantage to some nice Michelin Pilot Supersports for Christmas and feel the difference.CPBRI said:

Must agree. Keep driving them. Winter is too long to store them away.

(That's jinxed our winter folk, cue 6" of snow everywhere and nothing will move on the roads at all !)
All mine are off the road, I take the opportunity to do maintenance on them, so still get a good feel of them;)
Just looked outside and road is muddy due to farmers, so no chance!
Off to make something for man cave!
