A very nice w-reg Tasmin convertable on e-bay in good condition with its twin crome fuel caps and original wheel trims and in my favorite color, if only i had more space and five grand going spare in my pocket.

cat c, non-original instruments (those early cars had really nice stewart warner instruments)
damaged steering wheel
missing dash vernier
no other interior pics --why?
possibly resprayed

it all depends on the chassis...no pics--why?

without having any chassis and further interior info, i would rather say its a 2.5k car

Not original.

5 speed box cannot be original.
Whole DASH.
Switches not TR7.
Engine should not have PAS (not offered until after 350 as far as I know)
Airbox is Capri. (should be Granada, but Capri is right choice for a PAS setup)
Sierra 'air collector' on top of metering unit.
Fusebox and relays not in original location (can see the screw holes though)

Colour matched bumpers did not happen until later on - so would indicate a full or partial respray.

All fixable with time and effort.

Body and wheels look good though - wonder how much was rebuilt ?

Yeah, Agree. Price seems high without shots of underneath..
Personally I never liked the SW gauges - much too fussy IMHO.

Yes i agree its not original and for this price you would need more info and pics of the chassis but these cars are so rare now, it used to be there were two or three cars on e-bay in a month now you are lucky if there is one, they are slowly either being taken apart for bits or used for kit cars or not being used and deteriorating in lock ups, but this one should be safe for now as its a high price, that's if it sells for it.

Yep, I wasn't trying to say it was awful, just that you need to be careful and get more info.

As far as I know the earlier chassis with the grey powder coat tends to survive better than the later black ones (although some dispute this).
So if it looks good underneath, may still be a decent buy.

Get as much info as possible, and be aware of any 'bodges' - which can be much worse than non-original features...

The grey epoxy coat wasn't used on the early chassis, they were a short run in about 1982/3.
Standard was supposedly black powder coat ('plastic coating') but some I've worked on were clearly paint, not plastic. I had chassis 36 (reg. May 1980) and that was black.

OK thanks - didn't know that - mine has the grey coat, which appears to be [relatively] soft plastic coat - no idea if moisture can work its way
along. but tubes seem sound so far - even outriggers...

not all abvoe is correct:

i also had an early Tasmin with ford V6 and PAS.

the rest is correct!! somebody must have put a lot of time and effot in modifying this car. the quality of work can only be estimated, especially as some severe mods have been done, like re-wire, relocation of fuse- and relay board, differtn instruments, different switches.....might look tidy behind the dsah, could also look horrible.

fault finding will be interesting, as you cannot use anymore the original electrical scheme.

from paint and alloys the car has ben resprayed.

powder-coat on those early cars was really good and long-lasting.

Looks a nice Wedge...My old 280i was 1982 and had PAS....Im not a great lover of a modern looking dash in a classic but it doesn't look too bad, And if you are that fussy then hey you can still put it back to "Original" although if its not broke then....

Would be interesting to know what the damage was and who repaired it...ears

The engine bay could do with some new hoses here and there and a general clean up....Price might be a tad spicy but not by that much....I like it...smile
