Morning all. A quick question for the electrical minded chaps.

I want to remove the silly switch that is under the dash to turn off the dash lights. When I unplug the switch, will I need to connect the wires together to keep the switch 'on' (dash light on permanently with main lights)? Or do I just unplug the switch and tape up the ends and leave stowed in the dash somewhere?
I don't know how switches work you see... silly

Many thanks
Cad

Yes join the wires together to keep the dash lights on permanent, my switch like a lot of others is now a fan overide switch, last time I had my dash out, I noticed how it was now wired up.

I just linked the two terminals together with a very short piece of wire with a male crimmp terminal on each end. (Effectively leaving them permanently "on".)

How many of us have owned these cars for years and know what the switch does yet whenever it's been activated accidentally and then the first time we switch the lights on, No dash lights,, and panic for a few seconds before remembering g that weird button.
I'm leaving mine alone because I'm sure to need it one night in the pitch dark driving the Nurbergring and it will eliminate the glare of the clocks on my eye line into the Carousel hehe ???
