Greetings gents,
I dont have a rear lamp on my chimaera (not sure whether this is standard or not) but the rear number plate is backlit.. Im just wondering where i can get hold of a replacement?
Also the front number plate is literally in the grill blocking a good chunk of it, I would like to move it down lower to allow more air to pass through & possibly make it abit smaller (not legal i know :rolleyes).. Has anyone done this to theres? Any info, where you got yours made etc would be appreciated

Steve

Search and thou shall find... wink

As for small front plates I have no idea why people would deliberately want to attract the attention of the law, plenty of cars running full size plates without boiling up!

Here you go,airflow and temps work more efficiently in my opinion, and the grill looks better for the smaller plate

I ran mine for nearly five years with no front plate at all ... it got put on for the MOT once a year - the rest of the time it was in the boot with some non-sticky pads on the back for an "I came back to it and it had fallen off" plea in case I ever got pulled...

I didn't even get told off for it when I got stopped for driving without a seatbelt!

Yep the rear plate is good but the normal plates are pretty crap quality and at a premium price tag too.

As I say the translucent rear ones are good, but then again they are pretty impossible to find as there is not much call for them now.

I used Jepsons and Co at Sheffield for my translucent plates, convenient as I pass it every day ;-)

After reading this a thought came to me or a question if you will ................................. how do owners in Europe, France, Germany, Italy, for example get their rear plates for the early cars with back light rear plates?

Thing about the front is having a bigger grill area won't let any more air in at all, as it is controlled by the air that can get out having passed through... you're actually likely to make it worse...

Good question and one I would like to know the answer to. I have my early Chim in Ireland and have been on the lookout for the correct plate.. Any ideas appreciated?

I guess my first option should be to call one of the U.K. Companies that makes them.
