70d wifi issue - infrastructure mode issue

I'm trying to get my 70d to connect to my Windows 10 PC through wifi so that I can do some remote shooting, and for a bit of convenience with downloading images. I've used wifi before to smartphones/tablets using the camera as an access point. Obviously I need to connect it in infrastructure mode (and select the EOS utility option) which is where the problem is arising.

The camera is not recognising my home network. I've got two (2.4 & 5ghz) but it won't find either, despite being a couple of feet from the router. It'll find several of my neighbours wifi networks but not mine.

I've tried googling but I can see an issue with this point. Has anyone got any idea what's going on and how I can resolve it?

I haven't tried connecting mine to wifi since I first got it last year, always using the phone of I want to pull pics off I want to upload somewhere. When connecting to phone the phone moans everytime about it not having an Internet connection but works fine as does the remote shooting using the app (Android)

I've had issues with other devices that need Wifi and it was down to 2.4GHz and 5GHz not being split (Garmin Scales) but you've said they are separate. I had a look now and it seems to only show the two networks it finds first so took a few scans to find mine which I was right next to. There was also the options for WPS which will make it easier to connect.
