Hi to you all firstly hope you have had a good xmas so far. I am new to PH but hoping some of you kind people can help me out in sourcing decent mobile phone replacement parts as I currently use the usual ones in Manchester but price seems to be going up and quality going down with certain ones. any help or advice would be appreciated thanks for your time and wish you all a great 2017.

Presumably you mean spare parts not accessories?

As the majority of phones are manufactured in China that would seem to be the best place to source the parts, one of the ways to track down suppliers is to use one of the well known supplier listing sites. Alibaba will point you at someone who can sell you a container load of parts but it's smaller brother aliexpress deals in smaller lots.

There's loads of info on how to go about importing from China both on this forum and the web.

Whether it's viable for you to do it this way no one on this forum can say, up to you to do your research.

Thanks 951TSE and yes phone parts is what I am after I might have to look at ordering more in bulk and try china rather than the shops in Manchester. I dont't use enough at the moment on my own but could maybe open an ebay shop to get rid of what I don't need if I need to get certain quantities.

One of my friends sent me this email.

Would be good if you could spread and sign it.

I’ve made a petition – will you sign it?

Click this link to sign the petition:
https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/172036/sp...

My petition:

Right to repair legislation for consumer electronics.

At present the motor industry is governed by EU block exemption to prevent manufacturers monopolising repairs of motor vehicles. They must provide spares and repair data to independent workshops. This petition is for consumer electronics manufacturers to be governed by similar legislation.

At present if you damage a phone screen, some manufacturers will not sell you or other repair companies a replacement screen. They will only sell the screens through authorised dealers or themselves, and you must have the device repaired by them. This stifles competition, particularly for smaller independent businesses. With phones increasing in price rapidly, they aren't a throwaway item and consumers have access to spare parts and be able to decide where to repair their devices.
