I found a few options via google - just wondered if anyone on here actually has one they use?

I'm 99.9% sure Thule will have what you require.

Got the Black Aero Roofbars on my F10 M5 (rapid fitting kit for the M5 is the same as any F10 so i'd guess yours be the same as any F83). You then have the option of numerous Cycle carrying solutions such as frame or forks (forks for bikes with Carbon frames). You also need the Rapid Fit foot pack & these tend to fit various models.

The same rapid fitting kit/roofbars can then be used for may other solutions such as roof boxes, ski racks & canoe carriers etc.

From memory, the fixing kit (make/model specific) is around £40, the Rapid Fit foot pack around £80, the roofbars depending on style & colour are around £100-200 & the cycle carriers again depending on style are £75-150.

Various websites will provide you the correct fixing kit number for your car by inputing the model of your car, see below:

I use a Saris Bones on my F30. It touches nothing but the boot lid and bumper. That might be a good option?

Edit to remove my incorrect refrerence to F83 being a saloon.

Sorry, I assumed the F83 was a Coupe.

I'd advise against a Saris bones. No matter how much I prep the surface it always manages to mark the paintwork. Not so much of an issue on my previous cars but not appreciated on the M3 I have now.

Good stable rack though.

No help for the OP, however, M-Power with bike rack is a fine idea. This is mine:

thanks for the replies all - looks like I may have to look for a cycle bag and put it on the back seat!

Not a F83 but similar enough. Wheels off, old duvet. 2 bikes on back seat, 4 wheels plus luggage in boot

I would echo the above, a friend of mine uses them on an F-Type coupe with great success.
