what replacement for jensen
Discussion
Sorry but it's another what car thread!
I'm looking to replace my Jensen 541 in the new year, but I'm really struggling to find something thats similar for under 70k ish
My basic requirements are that it has to be reasonably fast, either a 2+2 or a shooting brake type GT. Nothing newer than very early 70s and ideally British.
I've already ruled out things like TVRs and E types as my Lab doesn't really fit in the back seats, so I'm struggling to even com up with a shortlist! The obvious answer is a DB but unfortunately the budget doesn't stretch haha
Any ideas?

I've only had a brief look into the Maserati but it seems a good one is north of £100k?
The Interceptor was a serious contender, but for me its not worth the swap from the 541.
Anything else come to mind?
:edit: @redchina, I've not put it up yet, was planning on putting in on carandclassic next week. If you pm me your details I'll send you some more info

How about a De Tomas Longchamp or its Maserati twin:-

If you can stretch to it, this 410 from the same dealer is beautiful. Even better in the flesh than in their pictures.http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C815554
Not early '70s and another £10k over your budget, but Mortimers down in Sussex have A Maserati Merak SS up for grabs, RHD, good history, two previous owners, first owner was Olympic swimmer David Wilkie...

A mid period Merak this one but looks wise it's pretty much the same as the very early cars.
